hmm how does it feel to be spending cny in the US? it was pretty fun but celebrating with the singaporeans in umich but truth be told, it didn't feel like chinese new year at all. it was more like a huge gathering where everyone had dinner and basically enjoyed each others' company. so it definitely wasn't like back home where there's visiting, loud and joyous chinese new year tunes in shopping malls, cny tv programmes and that special atmosphere. but i had fun helping to organize the celebrations for the singapore student association here. luckily i met my dad in new york over winter break; he brought over some angbaos and pineapple tarts for me!

that kinda sums up chinese new year for me here i guess. now i'm just looking forward to coming home in late april! my exam ends on 27th so if i catch a flight that day, i'll be home by 6am on 29th apr singapore time. then we can all meet up! edward's going over to australia pretty soon right? hmm maybe we could make a short trip down under as a OG haha..
